This level of experience enables us to provide solutions that are relevant and timely, and we are able to consult on the challenges facing our clients across Australia and South East Asia.

Geoff Curran - Managing Director

Geoff Curran has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Western Australia and over 20 years experience as a specialist recruitment practitioner. During that time he has worked with organisations to secure talent at middle and senior levels.

Geoff began his recruitment career in Perth in the early 1980s. After several years with a national management consulting firm, he joined Arthur Andersen & Co to establish its executive recruitment division.

In 1989, Geoff moved to Sydney and at Morgan and Banks specialised in recruiting for accounting and finance. He spent two years in London further developing his skills in this field. Geoff returned to Sydney in 1994 and joined Margot Davis and Company, a recruitment consultancy which specialised in marketing, advertising and marketing communications. He subsequently became a shareholder and a director of that business.

Geoff established Curran + Associates in 1998. His approach to executive recruitment and search is founded on several basic principles: knowledge gained through specialisation, being relevant to both clients and candidates, delivering outcomes quickly and efficiently.

James Kopp - Regional Director, Victoria

James Kopp joined Curran & Associates in January 2004 to establish the Melbourne office. Previously James operated his own search consulting firm specialising in call centre and IT executive recruitment in Melbourne. His career in executive search began in 1996 in Sydney with Kris de Jager & Associates before joining Korn/Ferry Futurestep, the world's largest executive search firm.

During his career in executive search James has been involved in key appointments across all major industries including banking & finance, IT&T, transportation, retail, and automotive.

In his previous career James was with Toyota Motor Corporation Australia for 15 years where he held executive positions managing regional offices and national divisions.

Geoff Daly - Managing Director, Philippines

With over 18 years in senior HR roles, Geoff has enjoyed a successful HR career “assisting Business leaders with solutions to their people issues”.

Working across several industry sectors, Geoff has had a long career in International HR with assignments in Eastern Europe, East Africa and first worked in China and Hong Kong back in 1996. Geoff’s strength is being able to create rapport with business leaders of all backgrounds and understanding the way to get the best performance from a multi-cultural workforce.

Since 2007, Geoff has been providing HR consulting services into the Philippines, relocating permanently to Philippines in early 2009. This in-country experience has given Geoff a unique understanding of the Philippines culture and issues that impact sourcing outstanding people for our clients.

Geoff joined Curran & Associates in 2009. He manages our team of Philippines consultants based in our office in Manila and soon to open Cebu office.

Geoff holds a MBA from Melbourne Business School and a Bachelor of Business in HR.

Living in Sydney, Geoff was an active Surf Lifesaver spending over ten years patrolling Coogee Beach. Geoff is also a passionate Rugby and Cricket tragic; and in more recent years an avid global traveler and keen scuba diver.
